Brodi Honor and the Land of Ultima Prologue "Dear Mr. Honor, Upon receiving your letter i am also concerned of the events spoken. It has been quite some time since you left Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry to join the Ministry of Magic but there is a position here that you would fit perfectly. I know things have changed at the ministry so i thought a breath of fresh air would do you good. I hope to see you soon my young friend Albus Dumbledore" Old stretched parchment felt light and weak in his hands. The words being magnified through his stylish glasses worn only for reading purposes. Sounds of crackling fire with the dim golden light moving across the room and back again. Bookcases covered the parimeter of the circular room with many documents stretching throughout the years. All with significance to death eater movment and attacks, the books were neatly displayed and in good order apart from certain parchments sprawled across the wooden desk. Footsteps could be heard from many corridors, there was always movement to be heard and muffled voices through the many walls. Leaning against the back of his finely crafted chair, a man in his late 30's in look and focused attire. A stubble of a beard with medium length brown hair. With the looks of a model and the build ofa top athlete. The determined eyes lead to the first impression of passion mixed with respect. The plaque displayed his name with bright gold letters, proudly reminiscing his position withing the ministry. "Brodi Honor - Charter of Dark Magic Activity" "Things have changed here, for the worst" he thought to himself while taking his glasses off and placing them neatly on Dumbledore's letter. With silence and respect a secretary donning red clothes and medium length brown hair. Brodi looked up at her in puzzlement to her arrival and awaited her reason with further silence. "Sir, what are you going to do about the position at Hogwarts? The Ministry shockingly approved the move just now" she said being very curious about his situation. Brodi always attracted attention from the opposite sex of all ages, he used to be a heart breaker back in his days as a Ravenclaw student. The fact that the Ministry had approved the suggested move was a complete shock to him also. He had done so much good and no one would be able to fill his position if he chose to leave. These were strange times felled with doubt and dishonour. He looked into the Secretary's eyes with deep meaning and quickly made up his mind. "Prepare my bags, my affairs have no time to be set in order, send an owl to Hogwarts and tell Dumbledore..." he paused for a second and smiled for the first time in weeks "I'm coming back". Chapter One The walls seemed smaller and bigger at the same time. The ceiling pressed hard on his boundaries while the floor seemed so wide and spacious. Memories flooded back as if they were happening right before him, as if they were unfolding all over again. Flashes of the years he had spent there as a child brought warmth to his heart. He had arrived early like all the professors so that he could prepare for the year ahead, the appointment with Dumbledore was coming dreadfully fast. Not knowing what was going to be said, Brodi had never been a teacher before and the fact was bearing down on his mind. Honor was a man of loyalty and determination, Dumbledore must of known this well and Brodi guessed that was the reason why he had been invited to teach at Hogwarts. Looking at every crack in the wall, every bit of detail was a welcoming wave. The trip hadn't taken long, travelling by boat most of the way he had alot of time to reflect over the past couple of weeks. Much that had happened had no reason or had been covered up very well. As if there was a sort of plan behind every dark movement. Before he could savious the feeling of being at home, a voice echoed through the flickers of light. "These walls do not welcome you Professor Honor!" said a familiar voice, a particular pronounciation of the word "Professor" was shapr while sarcastic. Brodi quickly jolted his gaze upwards to reveal a cloaked man with medium length black hair and extremly focused eyes. "I see your tongue remains forked, Severus!" Brodi replied, raising his wand toward the potions professor. There was a small silence between the two of them. Tension building as Severus raised his wand in retaliation. "Flemeringis!" shouted Severus as a small ray of fire beamed out from his wand toward Brodi with intense speed. With haste Brodi stepped backwards, swirled his wand around anti-clockwise and shouted "Valex!" creating a purple vortex in front of him. Sucking up the energy used by Snape's fire attack, Brodi walked through the vortex breaking upon touch and spoke "Iilbranda!" An extreme power exited from his wand. Before it could reach Snape he thrusted his wand forward and murmered an enchantment away from listening ears. A green open coccoon wrapped itself around the silver light engulfing it and eating it away. The clash of two energys caused a dark light to flash through the hallway lasting a mere second. Both of them panted hard, gasping for air. Their focus soon drew to each other agian as their eyes locked into place. Their efforts being cancelled by their own powers. Suddenly out of the focused panting, laughed erupted between the both of them. Brodi walked up toward Snape and embraced him with a friendly hug. "It's been some time my good friend" Brodi said with patting his friend on the back. "Far too long Brodi, far too long, you've gotten better since last time" Snape replied while returning the gesture. After the hug they stepped back from each other as Snape pointed down the hall. "Headmaster Dumbledore wants to see you, no doubt it'll be a fun experience for you" he instructed with a slightly dark tone. Brodi nodded to his friend before quickly stepping past him with a smile on his face. Things were already turning out interesting, he knew that Snape would be happy to see him. Despite them being in different houses during their magical education, they had a long past of friendship. It didn't take long to arrive at Dumbledore's office, the warmth and majesty of the place made anyone feel welcome. Opening the large door to reveal the headmaster sitting there with a fire crackling in the darkness. "Albus Dumbledore!" Brodi said loudly with a large smile, indeed very happy to teach under his name. Sitting down in a seat adjacent to Dumbledore's, he took a good look around the office. Without saying the same back, Dumbledore looked up with a concerned look upon his face "Voldemort's attack did change you... Sorry Brodi where are my manners? It's great to see you again" he stated, conjuring a smile of which Brodi knew was being forced "I'm sorry about Madeline..." Light from the moonlit sky echoed through the ripples of the lake. With shining blonde hair and a pale complexion, blue eyes and a wonderful smile. Madeline stared back into her lover's eyes. Brodi grabbed her hand and smiled back at her. The last couple of years had been so great for him thanks to Madeline, she had made his life worth living for. "Never leave me" she muttered while their lips drew closer, bearing warm air between them. "I never will" Brodi replied just before they kissed. Holding each other close as the heat of the air began to rise. "That was a long time ago Albus, but thank you" Brodi replied. It had been some time since he had thought about the events. He had buried the past in an attempt to let it go. "Yes it was, but i would of thought of all people you would understand that the past is indestructable" Dumbledore stated while standing up to face his many books in thought "But never mind that, once a student and now a teacher, i thought the best place to put you would be Defence Against the Dark Arts, against Professor Snape's wishes of course" Brodi smiled back at him while picking up his bag and heading for the door. As he embraced the door handle he heeded Dumbledore's words "I knew how much you loved her Brodi" Chapter Two The train was spectacular as per normal, no other could match it in terms of pure majesty. Another trip complete, another set of students and two new professors at Hogwarts, nothing could be more exciting in Hagrid's eyes. With a big smile he stood triumphantly at the end of the platform, being a shephard to his flock. "Marsander!" he said in suprise, Marsander Crawthan was the new Transfiguration professor while McGonagall was taking more of a managerial position over the school and her house. Donned in a long black leather jacket with short brown hair and a muscular build to prove a worthy match for Hagrid. "Hagrid, still taking this little role so seriously" he said while wading through the masses of students. "Why'd ya take the train, all the professors have been here for a couple of days, we'd wondered where'd ya gone!" he said while shaking Marsander's hand with alot of enthusiasm. "Well you know Hagrid, i like to make an entrance, plus no-one sent me the travel plans" he joked. Hagrid laughed as Marsaner walked past him. Marsander was a funny person but not one to get on the wrong side of. Being a former auror he had battled evil on many occasions, so far always coming out the victor. it was then that he spotted a certain Harry Potter, of whom had been shaken by the death of Cedric in the Tri-Wizard tournament in the previous year. Short black hair and round glasses, there was no mistaking it, his stories had been heard for many miles away. "Harry Potter..." he said loudly enough so that the young man could hear him. Harry turned around with his friends Ron and Hermione behind him. "Professor Marsander Crawthan, i served alongside your parents once, i haven't seen you since you were the size of my forearm" Marsander smiled to him. Harry looked slightly puzzled by Marsander's advances but managed a smile. Anything to do with his parents made Harry smile. "You know my parents?" he asked in amazement toward Marsander's claim. With a smile he nodded slowly. "Your parents, myself and a man called Brodi Honor were all in the same group of aurors" he said while grabbing his bag and hoisting it over his shoulder. "That's professor Honor now, he's the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher" Hagrid said while looking over his shoulder, he then proceeded to herd the first years. Marsander smiled with utter shock, he hadn't seen Brodi in so long probably since Madeline... "Anyway, we'd better be off, i have days worth of preperation to fit in while in the space of about an hour" he explained with a smile, heading for the first boat he could see. Wlaking through the empty grand hall, which would soon be full of students from all years, he remembered the times he had spent there as a child. Leaning over to see a particularly cute girl on the Slytherin table. Making him smile slightly by the images being created by his mind. He remembered laughing at his Ravenclaw table the year that they won the house cup. There were many dear memories that he had of the school and as Dumbledore had told him "The past is indestructable". Choosing to embrace the past instead of letting it control him was proving harder than desired. Professor Snape, Dumbledore, McGonagall among others sat at the end of the hall eagerly awaiting the student's arrival. Filtch, the caretaker, had managed to keephis usual dirty look toward everyone. Brodi's footsteps could be heard echoing through the vacant hall as we approached the professors. The sorting hat seemed lifeless now, patiently waiting to sort the first years into their houses. Brodi was always a proud Ravenclaw, so doing so taking his seat next to a proud Slytherin. It was then that head of Gryffindor, professor McGonagall stood up and walked down toward the door. She was always the one to introduce the students into the school in the correct manner, as she walked through the large door, the second year upwards students entered the grand hall. Brodi scanned through the few of them until Snape nudged him and nodded toward a Slytherin girl of whom was taking her seat. "Celine Sommers, she racked up the points last year that won us the house cup" Snape grinned, Snape was always happy when one of his apprentices acheived and Brodi smiled back while dismissing the student somewhat. "Welcome back, i'm sure many of you remember last year and the terrible events of the Tri-Wizard tournament, this year we continue as we should and find that in sorrow comes rebirth and light" Dumbledore addressed the students who seemed wary of the past year's events. It was never a dull moment in Hogwarts, there was always something happening worth it's time. The headmasters words left a small amount of ease upon the students. It was then that McGonagall had returned with a small amount of first years behind her. News of a student's death seemed to have scared off many of the suspected arrivals. It was time for another address by Dumbledore as the grand hall doors closed quietly behind the first years revealing a man previously hidden. Brodi knew who it was without anytime needed to process. It was Marsander. "First years, welcome to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you will be honored to share this first year experience with two new professors this year, professor Brodi Honor and professor Marsander Crawthan" Dumbledore said with a glint of promise in his eye "I have no doubt that they will join your success yet to be acheived". The Students all clapped as Ravenclaw's and Slytherin's took their first look toward Brodi while the Hufflepuff's and Gryffindor's looked at Marsander. "Now if the sorting would begin" Dumbledore addressed towards McGonagall with his right hand raised. The head of Gryffindor turned to the new students while lifting the sorting hat into the air above the wooden stool. "When i call your name, you will come up, i will place the sorting hat on you and then you will join your housemates" she explained to the anxious first years. One by one the brief amount of first years were sorted following a chorus of cheers by their respective house. It reminded Brodi of his time being sorted, everyone said that he would end up in Slytherin but Ravenclaw turned out to be his destiny. He remembered watching Marsander run to his Gryffindor housemeates and then crashing into the table by accident. The memories made him laugh a little, Snape could plainly tell what he was remembering. "You know as a third year i'd hoped you became Slytherin but was glad that Crawthan ended up in Gryffindor" he stated quietly in his ear. Brodi leant over with his eyes fixed on the current proceedings "Beggars can't be choosers eh?" he stated. Snape let out a small laugh while leaning forward into the table. "Hello there my name is James, James Potter" said a boy with short dark hair and round glasses. Brodi turned round to him, the sorting process had been an exhausting time as the first years began to mingle during the feast. "Brodi Honor, you were sorted into Gryffindor right?" Brodi asked with a small smile. James smiled back at him extending his hand. Without question Brodi shook the young Gryffindor's hand. Chapter Three Throwing his bag onto the bed, Brodi sat down on a stool placed by the side of his bed. "Accio" he spoke quietly as a candle flow from a hidden draw straight into his hand. Aiming his wand toward it as a small dribbling ember released itself, lighting the candle and bringing light to the room. His bed was very large indeed, just as he liked it, he was always one to spread out during the night. "Am i interrupting anything, you left the hall before i had the chance to catch up to you" said a familiar voice. Not even attempting to look at the person he spoke. "Professor Marsander Crawthan, the things you hear nowadays". It was then that he turned to face his comrade. He had got even stronger physically as the years had drawn on. "How are you my brother in arms, I heard about Maddie" said Marsander with his face staring at the floor. Sucking up the saliva in his mouth, Brodi looked at his friend with a needing look. "Everyone knows, i lost my love and two of my best friends that night, i'd rather not think about it". Taking a seat close to the door and yawning slowly due to the late hour, Marsander threw over a magical picture "Look at it Brodi, James had it in his pocket when he died" asked Marsander with a look of concern written over his face. Using his left hand to pick up the picture and then drawing his gaze toward it a second later, it was a picture of himself, Marsander, James, Maddie and Lilly. Taken at graduation time where instead of going seperate ways they stuck together. On the back were some words written by James "Friends until the end". A tear dropped from Brodi's eye onto the picture as he dropped it back onto the bed "Thanks Marsander, i think i'm gonna need some time alone". Marsander picked himself up slowly and headed for the dark doorway "We all knew how much you loved her, my regret is only that i was helpless to the cause" he explained over his shoulder. Brodi's candlelight dimmed as he heard his door shut, it was time to get some sleep. "I wish that i get tospend every night like this, just here, with you" she said while brushing his hair aside to reveal a large smile. Laying there in the rising darkness around them they could do nothing but smile at one another. His eyes opened with a gunky feeling throughout his entire body, the school year had officially started and there were second years who were anxious to meet their new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. Rising slowly he suddenly realised a smug person in front of him "Time to get up!" shouted a girl, seemed seventh year and long brown hair. Startled by the fact that he was topless and it seemed as if the young lady had been there awhile. Pulling up the covers with a shocked look upon his face he snapped out. "Have you heard of knocking maybe, who are you?" the girl stood there leaning over the side of the bed with a distinct smile on her face. "I did knock but your snoring muffled it out, Bella Linke at your service, Dumbledore asked me to help you out for a couple of days until you got the hang of the whole teaching thing". Brodi blinked at her while keeping his mouth wide open at the mornings proceedings. "It's just as rude to stare" she said while shutting his mouth fr him. Racing around his room trying to grab his clothes in utter chaos "You know your not late, i just get up early" she smiled with her back toward him, looking over to see an eagle tattoo on his arm. Dressed in only his boxers he spotted Bella looking at him with a smirk upon her face. "Nice of you to tell me... EYES FORWARD!" Brodi shouted, Bella quickly turned forward with a bitten lip. It didn't take long afterward to get ready for his first lesson, robes all fitted nicely and his bag held everything that he needed. Walking into the class room where some of the second years could be heard talking "Morning guys, as they say defence is the best form of offense, in order to succeed in life we have to learn how to defend ourselves" he said while dropping his bag onto the desk. Bella walked over toward the back of the class, leaning back against the wall with a smile on her face. "I am Brodi Honor, i once sat where you are today, looking a little bit anxious, but don't worry i'm not too ugly and i don't bite" he said with a chorus of laughs. The lesson then continued like clockwork, it was basic magic but it brought confidence to Brodi's heart that it was going so well. "So everyone knows the three basic spells to give you an upper hand against any dark creature or wizard, fantastic work today, until next time!" he stated as all the second years grabbed their books and headed for the door. Pretty soon the place was empty, lifeless with just him and Bella standing there. She walked up toward him slowly with a deadly look in her face. Not menacing but deeply focused. Stopping a hair's breath away from him, very much invading his personal space she spoke in an alluring fahsion "You don't cease to impress Professor..." with a small kiss on the cheek. Before Brodi could reply she had already left the room. This Bella was one interesting girl that had had a knack for keeping Brodi on edge. "Marsander!" James said with a large smile on his face. Brodi and James had been waiting in the courtyard for quite some time for the young Gryffindor to finish his class. "James, Brodi, where is Madeline and Lilly?" Marsander asked as he sat down beside them. Both of them simply shrugged their shoulders at the question as the sunlight beamed down upon them. "Brodi's glad that madeline isn't here, Kerry Sorin from Hufflepuff just asked him out!" James said while nudging Brodi in the side. Marsander started to laugh a little as Brodi explain himself. "I said no, i barely even know her!" Chapter Four "So did you enjoy your little helper this morning?" questioned Marsander as the pair scanned the teacher's notice board after their lessons. Brodi turned to his friend with an eyebrow raised. Students of all houses flowed through the corridor linking the Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts classrooms. It was the free time for the first to fourth years so some students were still to get their bearings on the new surroundings. A certain level of noise meant that they had to raise their voices slightly. "IT's been one day and already i've been topless with a seventh year, not how you think just for references sake" he stated while turning back to the notice board. Marsander grew a silent grin as he hoisted his arm over Brodi's shoulders in a friendly manner. "Well consider yourself lucky, i got a spotty Ravenclaw boy to enjoy looking at all morning" he explained as serious as he could before laughing a little bit more. Brodi chuckled a little bit as he scanned the corridor, showing 2 new students sighing with dissapointment. "These kids need something to take their minds off last year, something to be excited about" Brodi explained while leaning against the wall next to the bulletin board. Marsander turned an eye toward his friend with an eyebrow raised and another smirk building. "What are you planning Brodi?" he asked. "I'll come up with something, enjoy your Ravenclaw seventh year" he replied with a pat on Marsander's shoulder proceeding to walk down the hall. Before he could walk out of Marsander's eyesight a scream could be heard from a few halls away. Without thought the pair ran directly through the flurry of frightened Gryffindors. The path was leading them toward the Gryffindor common room. "Lilly, Lilly! What's the problem?" shouted James as he charged into the common room with Marsander and Brodi. Brodi took a good look around the room as it would probably be the only chance he would get to see the Gryffindor common room. There she was on the sofa of the common room as a small flame began to rise by her feet. "Wallus!" shouted James as he aimed his wand at the fire by her feet, watching as water swallowed the flame. "What happened Lilly?"James asked as she jumped into his arms. Brodi followed the trail of ash which lead to the fireplace with a protector that had shifted out of place. "I'm sorry guys but i left my wand on the table" Lilly said as she began to calm herself down. "Well with us lot here, i don't think you will have to worry about anything" All that Brodi could see inside the Gryffindor common room was a cascade of blood drenched all over the sofa and fire place. Professor Snape and McGonagall had already been there for quite some time it seemed, a blanket had already been put over what seemed like a body. The horriffic sight of the blood stains over such a large space forced Brodi to turn away in disgust with a hand over his mouth. Even though he had studied picture of events like this before, the horiffic picture still shocked him. "What the ::censored::!" shouted Marsander as he managed to stop his momentum from crushing into Snape. It wasn't often that Marsander swore but it wasn't often that a swamp of blood with a body was found in the Gryffindor common room. Snape turned to face him with a stark looke upon his face. Then followed McGonagall with a small tear in her eyes. Looking over his shoulder, Brodi kept his eyes closed trying to block out the image in his head. "Who does this blood belong to?" he muttered while his heart wrenched inside of him. Marsander walked over towards the body and with a deep breath he took hold of the blanket laying over the corpse. Clsoing his eyes and with a quick swoop he pulled the stained cloth from the body. With red hair and a slash across the throat, Brodi opened his eyes as McGonagall spoke "Ron Weasley has committed suicide" Brodi picked up on all signs very quickly "It couldn't of been a suicide, there is blood everywhere, he wouldn't of had the strength to struggle against thing air let alone his own weight" Turining around fully and ready to face the grim scene once more, he took a quick look around the common room in order to gain a mental picture on things. Marsander took a glance to his friend and immediatly recognised his actions. "We need to..." Snape began to say before Marsander's raised his hand in the air and cut him off. "Just let him do this" Walking slowly through the room, playing scenario's over and over in his head. Brodi began cancelling out probable reasons with mental images playing in his head using clues picked out from the room, It was a technique that he had developed over the years as an Auror and Charter. With deep focus he spotted a note on the table by Ron's body. "I take it this is his departing note..." he asked while picking up the parchment which still had the ink drying. Snape simply nodded as the three professors watched Brodi's investigation, keeping silent as Marsander had instructed. "I'm sorry but with everything that has been happening i've decided i have no place here, everyone would be happier without me" Brodi recited to the professors. With a frown he spoke again. "It's his hand writing to be sure but there is a trail of the ink at the end, it's much too short for a sudden suicide, this death was a rushed murder and a shabby attempt to cover it up" throwing the noted back onto the table. McGonagall looked puzzled as she turned toward Snape. "If this is true then we must find the culprit, do you think it was him?" the pair headed for the door quickly before Marsander interrupted their path. "Whoever did this is long gone by now, i don't think that Voldemort would show here, it would be too foolish, rather a lackey in his place to send a message" said Marsander as he turned to Brodi who was still deep in thought at the current situation. "Not a message, to raise doubt" Chapter Five Tears streamed down here cheeks like a violent river. News of Ron's "Suicide" had torn her heart in two. He was one of her closest friends and they had been through so much together, herself Ron and Harry had acheived so much together. Now Harry had took it upon himself harshly to stop Voldemort leaving her basically alone. "Excuse me, are you okay?" said a caring voice from behind her. The sun was flaring down onto the courtyard, the fountain provided a trickling ambient for the area around her. Almost everyone was at the Great Hall for dinner but Hermione just didn't feel as if she could stomach a meal alone. The wind blew her hair around a little as a young Slytherin lady approached her, with medium length brown hair and a friendly complexion. "I'm okay... well i'm lying really, my friend has just died and... I'm sorry, you shouldn't have to hear this" Hermione explained with a need to justify herself. The girl just smiled and sat down next to her "It's okay, I'm Celine Sommers, Hermione Granger right?" Celine asked while handing her a tissue. Hermione simply nodded and accepted the clean tissue, still the tears kept coming. She had hoped that this year would be different than last year but it seemed that a trend of death was setting. Celine extended her arm over Hermione with a friendly gesture. Feeling sorry and understanding her situation, Celine had lost people close to her also. "My mother died last week, I know what it's like, where is your friend Harry Potter?" enquired the gentle Slytherin while taking a quick scan across the courtyard in an attempt to find him. "He's just gone off blaming it all on himself, not realising that some people need him" Hermione explained while sitting up fully and taking a good look at the girl who had offered a gentle hand. "You're from Slytherin?!" Celine nodded with a small giggle as she looked to the ground "Yeah, lots of people thought i would be Hufflepuff, it's rare for one of my house to care for a Gryffindor". Nodding almost in approval of her comment, Hermione was glad that Celine was there, like great friends she made Hermione feel safe. "Thank you Celine" she said with a small smile "I really mean it" Smiling back with a warm appeal to her, Celine came up with an idea. Prodding at Hermione'es arm slightly she spke with a much more enthusiastic tone "Miss Granger, Celine Sommers formally invites you to a sleep over tonight!" Hermione smiled but found one basic flaw in Celine's plan "I'm from Gryffindor, i won't be allowed in the Slythering common room" she explained while slamming her head between her hands in frustration. Things just weren't going her way recently, everything had a way of making her feel unjustified and dissapointed. Sitting there and smiling like a cheshire cat, Celine pointed out their hidden requime. "I'm head girl, Professor Snape worships the ground i stand on, i can do whatever i want, come on, you've got to grab some things for tonight!" Celine's arrival had brought a ray of sunshine to Hermione's sea of sorrow. Spotting the cunning that had placed her in Slytherin however made her smile rather than despise her as Draco Malfoy had done. When a friendship is drastically cut down, another blossoms from nowhere. Informing Dumbledore of Ron's death was a much harder task than previously predicted. he had taken it quite hard but so had all the school's inhabitants, Ron was indeed loved. Having a brief silence Brodi looked up to Marsander with a concerned look. His eyes fixated on Dumbledore, Marsander was one who had a certain lack of compassion. Witnessing death and fear of so many, he found comfort through judgement and investigation. Brodi however offered a more sympathetic look toward Dumbledore's dilemma. "This was no suicide, myself and Brodi think that someone intended to cover it up but possibly ran out of time to do it properly, does anyone outside have acces to those rooms, is there anyone who wanted Weasley dead?" pushed Marsander while slamming his fist on the table with a demanding thud. Dumbledore looked at his rage with a small sigh and then looked back to the desk like a child who had done something wrong. "Cedric and now Ron, can i not protect the school anymore?" he muttered. As Harry had done, Dumbledore had taken Ron's death upon himself, finding the blame on his shoulders. Someone had to interfere. "This death wasn't meant for Ron, it was a seed of doubt that is letting itself grow in everyone's mind, don't become a slave to it" Brodi explained with a tender edge. Firing more blame on Dumbledore wasn't going to get anything done quicker. Catching on quickly Marsander backed off away from the table, leaving the diplomacy to his friend. With a breath of air the headmaster's face began to grow with leadership again. "You are right Brodi, Ron is dead but his death will not be in vain, i will begin some defensive spells around the school but in the meantime, it is up to you two to burn this doubt before we become an easy target for whoever orchestrated this vile murder" He instructed while heading for the door, Marsander and Brodi close behind. As Dumbledore walked off down the corridor, Brodi grabbed Marsander's arm before he could move. "There is something else" he said quietly as he took a small parchment out of his pocket. Knowing what it was immediatly, Marsander leant over Brodi's shoulder to take another look at Ron's supposed suicide note. The words were as before but instead there was a line that Brodi missed out before. "The past is indestructable" Marsander recited with a puzzled tone. "Only two people have ever said that to me, Dumbledore and him..." explained Brodi as he folded up the note and put it back in his pocket. Suddenly a familiar voice came from behind him. "Professor Honor, i need a little help with my homework" said a first year Ravenclaw boy. Brodi nodded to the boy while speaking to his friend. "Duty calls, lets get back to work shall we?" Madeline was always so hopeless when it came to potions homework. Never being able to get the right mix of ingredients. "I think you've got it, no... we're missing something" Brodi explained as he searched through the manual. "Toad tongue, you'll need toad tongue" implied Lilly as she walked past dropping the sliimy tongue into the couldron. The concoction began to fizz with a gleam of success. "Thanks Lille, next time i'll ask someone who knows what they are doing!" she laughed at Brodi. With a playful response Brodi laughed a little also. Chapter 6 Things have proved interesting since her return, a mere two lessons and someone had killed themself. It was getting late but in the Slytherin dorms, that was when things really started to happen. The house quidditch team was good this year which brought releif to her heart, a captain is only as good as her team. Suddenly a noisy duo entered the dorm, one of which she knew all too well but the other was a new face to be sure. Sitting herself up with a look of disgust on her face she spoke demandingly "What is she doing here, isn't the Slythering common room supposed to be for Slytherin's?" she asked sarcasticly. "Hermione, this is Mia Lamond, she's a lovely girl who picks flowers in her spare time!" Celine stated with sarcasm dripping from her words. Mia simply faked a smile back. Putting a bag on Celine's bed, Hermione felt slightly uneasy but happy, Ron's death wasn't as heavy on her heart at this time. Most of the Slytherin girls were awake doing homework, not really bothering that Hermione had simply strolled into their dorm. "She didn't tell you then i guess?" Mia spoke while rising from her bed to face Celine strongly. Hermione turned to her new found friend with a puzzled face, making a triangular shape between their heads "Tell me what?" Mia just smiled slightly while keeping her stare toward Celine without blinking "She won't tell you, good ol' loveable Celine is a lesbian" Hermione didn't like Mia's tone at all, trying to attack her, not knowing why Mia had this dislike of Celine. "Well why does that matter?" Hermione replied shocking Mia as due to her reaction. With a brief grunt Mia retired to her ged, falling asleep quickly. Celine turned toward her friend with concern, guessing her response was simply a ploy for Mia. "Are you okay with this, i only wanted to be your friend" she explained while sitting on her bed with her head inside her hands. Hermione quickly moved over to the worried head girl with a reassuring aura. "It's fine honestly, i know your intentions are pure" Celine wasn't happy that her secret had been shared so easily over the Slytherin common room but Hermione's response had given her some ease. "Ron Weasley is dead my lord" said a draping figure with an evil tone. All that could be seen was darkness around them, hidden from anyone apart from the dark lord. There he stood in his pride, nearly fully regenerated to full power, his plan already in fruition. "You have done well, they think it was suicide?" he asked while sitting down on a chair that seemed non existent due to the brutal darnkess. His soldier looked down at the floor with his reply. "No... I apologize my lord, Brodi Honor picked up that it was a murder and is launching an investigation with Marsander Crawthan". With anger filling his face, Voldermort had dealt with these two before. Both of them had slipped through his wrath before but now it was different. No one had the power to stop him now. "This isn't good, you know what must be done" he ordered while wishing his worker away. "Yes sir, i will kill Marsander Crawthan and Brodi Honor" explained the dark figure with movement away from it's master. "No!" shouted Voldermort with deep meaning "Kill Marsander but Brodi must live on, i need Brodi Honor alive" It didn't take long to help out the young student, Professor Snape wasn't one to have a friendly welcome to non-Slytherin students in need. Marking a few papers of his late into the night with a mere single candle for light, his quille was the only sound apart from his almost silent breathing. It was times like these he enjoyed his privacy so that the hectic events of the day could settle in his mind. Only a few days had past since his arrival and while things had been tragic, Brodi felt as if he was finally getting the hang of teaching. However through the peace of the moment, his heart was still in unrest. Knowing that dwelling on Ron's death would only lead to a collapse in his defences, he felt as if it was his duty to figure it all out. "Who had access to those rooms?" he thought to himself while ticking another correct answer. With stealth, a figure came from the middle of the room. "Excuse me sire, can i talk to you?" asked a teenage voice. Lifting his head up to examine, it was one Harry Potter. Brodi had wondered when he would have the chance to meet Lilly and James' son in person. He had been making quite a name for himself recently, since he had joined Hogwarts. "This is a late hour but of course" Brodi replied as the candle barely lit Harry's curious face. Sitting down on a chair slightly disjointed from it's desk, Harry waited for Brodi to finish his marking. "What can i do for you Harry?" Brodi asked, remembering James and Lilly, he missed them so much. Harry cleared his throat slightly before speaking. "Professor Crawthan said you knew my parents" Nodding slowly but not giving an answer as Brodi continued to mark his papers. A small silence came between them as Harry thought of what to say next, he expected the professor to do more than nod in approval. "Why didn't you help them if you were in the same group as them?" he asked, more with curiosity than anger. Desperatly wanting to know more about his parents Harry was forced to wait for Brodi's response. "I did try to help them" he responded witholding any sign of emotion. Now wasn't the time to display his feelings of regret. "What were they like?" asked Harry trying to pour out every piece of information out of the professor. With that question Brodi placed his quille on the on the table and faced Harry, he could see their faces so clearly in his own. Standing up and taking a small walk around the dark room, he started to reminisce his friends for Harry's sake. A child at least deserved to know what their parents actions were and their personality. Memories unfolded in fron tof him as if they were a narrator. "James was an honorable person, brave and good natured, Lilly was cariing and made people feel safe, very intelligent and welcoming, i can tell that these good traits can be carried on through you" he explained with a smile. A smile grew on Harry's face along with a large yawn. "Go get some sleep Mr Potter, i'm sorry to hear about your friend, i will do what i can to bring justice" Harry nodded and headed for the door "Thank you professor, it meant alot to me". With growing respect for the young man, Brodi noddded while closing the door behind him. Deciding to take some of his own advice, sleep would do him some good. Chapter Seven Some time had past since Ron's death. Events in Hogwarts had taken a lsightly more peaceful state for a few weeks allowing a time for thought and friendship to bloom. Brodi had fitted in as if he was always there, Marsander had done the same. With a single ray of hope glowing through their words and their efforts. The Seeds of doubt had been erased and finally the students were beginning to look at the skies wiht optimism instead of regret. The Lesson had gone off without a hitch, apart from a few students struggling with the advanced magic needed for transfiguration. He had a set of fourth years later in the day giving him a few hours to set some of his affairs in order. A few papers that needed checking and a quick clear up of the classroom. Changing doves into stones had left the entire classroom littered with rocks of odd shapes and sizes. Hearing a single set of high heels clapping against the floor, along with the rustling of parchments. Picking a rock off the floor, whom Marsander lifted his gaze upward he found his head precariously close to Bella Linke's legs "When you're ready to get your head out of my skirt, professor Honor has some files for you" said Bella in a girly charm. Always trying to break her limits with the professors so to speak, Bella found it amusing to use her amazing looks like a cat and mouse game for anyone who dared to play. Shooting straight up from the the floor in a good attempt to maintain his manly composure. Putting one hand on a nearby desk and the other to obtain the documents, Marsander took a quick scan of his friend's assistant. "Professor Honor eh?" he said quietly to himself while taking a quick look at the parchments. He still couldn't rock his mind around the professor part of the sentence, back in the days as an auror they used to joke about it so much. hunched around campfires with only themselves for company. Strangley enough some of those days, while being in the middle of forces who wanted them dead, were his fondest memores. "When do you think they'll attack?" asked Lillly as she finished her defensive spells to give the group an added bonus in battle. The rest huddled in a circle around a blazing controlled fire. Battling not only death eaters but other unforseen forces of dark magic had left them exhausted, with nothing but wasteland for 5 miles in every direction they would be easy to spot. The air was misty and cold, the sun would rise red with the stand of death. All they had to do was survive the night and the way home would be much easier with the day light. If they left during the night, they were asking to be devoured. "They'll have to regroup before they attempt it again, hopefully give us all an hour or two of sleep" replied Brodi while burying his head in his knees. he had fought someone out there of whome he had met before. It was such a brief moment, he just wasn't sure at all. "James, Lilly, you guys go first, me and Brodi will get some after" said Marsander. With innocent nods both James and Lilly crept into a magically created tent slowly with the fatigue of battle weighing heavy on their minds. Marsander knew his comrades too well to see that not only the battle was on Brodi's mind, something else also. Sighing slightly as he threw some small stones he had aquired from the muddy floor into the fire. Looking over to his friend, feeling his inner pain as if it were his own. All of the team grew more concerned over his mental state since they had left Hogwarts. For some reason he just wasn't the same, wasn't the same Brodi that Marsander had befriended all those years ago. "You miss her?" he asked with the noise and taste of anxiety in the air. With only half his face visible, Brodi nodded back while still looking at the floor. Not feeling the strength to keep his head high. "I just need to know why, she's out there somewhere probably with some other guy..." he said cutting his own sentence off. It was too hard to imagine her with any other person. All this time and he was still madly in love with her. The dagger forged in his proverbial heart still kept turning instead of healing. Now his heart had a shade of black painted on. "You got it right Marsander, staying single is the way" Brodi replied while looking to the skies, filled with malice and regret. Marsander simply shook his head slightly as the wind blew a little harder against his cheeks. "It's not what i want at all Brodi, i want someone, my miracle" Walking back to his desk with Bella close behind him, Marsander placed the files on his desk while sitting down. Bella taking a seat near the teachers desk, hearing the patter of footsteps back at the entrance of the room. There was a girl, just a little younger than Bella but had a dominating presence around the room. With long blonde hair and the focused determination that reminded Marsander of Brodi. Keeping his eyes fixated on the girl as she marched toward him "What can i do for you miss?" Once Bella realised who it was she looked the other way with disgust. It tidn't take much for Marsander to realise that there was animosity between the two. "Miss Anna Fleurite professor, nice to meet you, i'm here to collect Harry Potter's assignment that he missed" Anna explained while blatently overdoing a smile toward Bella. With a simple nod, Marsander searched around his desk while messing his files inadvertidly. Evil stares were exchanged between Anna and Bella, it was rare for a Gryffindor and a Hufflepuff to be sharing such hatred for each other. Finding the file after some searching around, he lifted it forward to the awaiting Gryffindor "Here you go Miss Fleurite, i hope Harry gets better soon" Marsander said with a professional smile. Anna took the file with another smile toward Bella before taking her leave. Bella suddenly tutted as the door closed. Anna was a no nonsense person, she came and got what she wanted without any sidetracks. Bella was a person who enjoyed her mind games and craved distraction. The clash of personalities were bound to erupt sometime. "What was that all about?" Marsander enquired without thinking that he may be prying into something that wasn't entirely a good idea to pry into. With a large and dramatic sigh Bella turned her body around the face the professor with with frustration clearly displayed in her face. "I've never seen eye to eye with her, just because i've lost my virginity everyone thinks i'm a slut or something" muttered Bella, not thinking twice about telling a professor that she was active so to speak. The words had shocked Marsander, Bella certainly was forward about these type of things. Looking at Bella it seemed as if she wanted some response, a quick panic came over him, this wasn't part of the job that was covered in the specification. "Well if you aren't, people will see that soon enough if you give them a positive reason" he said, trying to think what Brodi would say in his position. His comrade was always better at talking to people in delicate situations. "That's funny, that's exactly what professor Honor said, what's the deal with him anyways, always seems so depressed, should go out and fall in love for once" she said thinking that she knew better. Looking up at her with a face of pure seriousness, Marsander never wanted those words to reach Brodi's heart.x "His heart will always belong to one person, a person of whom he will never be with again, do not ever say something like tha again especially near him!" snapped Marsander. His response had sent shivers down Bella's spine, it was obvious now that she had overstepped the mark. "GET OUT!" Marsander ordered before looking back at his files. With tears in her eyes Bella ran out of the classroom quickly. He just wanted to look after his friend but soon realised that his methods were harsh. Feeling guild and regret hitting him heard, before he could set things right another class had stormed in ready to be tought. Sighing heavily as he looked at the door, wishing he could change his words. |

Chapter Eight Like bread and butter, Celine and Hermione had become best friends. Despite Celine being a lesbian, the matter never crossed Hermione's mind. Even though modern customs promoted alienaton, Celine made it clear tha she was no search for a girlfriend. The grand hall was about quarter full, between classes at the time leaving a rush to finish off some tasks. The usual hustle and bustle was like a permanent sound echoing in their ears. There was always someone trying a spell or gossiping, always something worth trying or saying. For some however this was simply a good place to meet up with friends. A huge slam hit the Gryffindor table, a vibration that most oculd feel far down the end of the hall. Jumping up with a bit of a scare, Celine took a look at the very large book that her friend had displayed. The cover was blank while the size of the book was extremly large, it must of been a hard job carrying it let alone reading it. With a big smile, Hermione took her seat oppostive the sleepy Slytherin. It wasn't often that a Slytherin sat on Gryffindor's table but it was more rare for a Gryffindor to be welcome on Slytherin's table. "What's that, the book that contains information of the universe in its entirety?" Celine asked with a small giggle. Hermione sarcastically smiled back while opening the book revealing tattered pages obviously worn by time. The hand writing was familiar to Celine, as if she had seen it but couldn't remember exactly. The book ahd attracted the attention of another Gryffindor, Anna Fleurite. Looking over her shoulder at proceedings as they occured. "It's old files written by various aurors, should help with our Defence Against the Dark Arts mid test later, i think that professor Honor wrote some things in here" she stated while scanning the book for a particular extract by the professor "I've read this book already, well twice but going through it again wouldn't hurt" Anna turned around with a curious look upon her face. She had the same summary test later in the day and any help was craved "Mind if i join you?" she asked confidentally while moving her spare parchment toward them for some notes. The pair simply nodded in approval, they didn't know Anna at all but their kind hearted welcome was for anyone. "I'm Celine and this is Hermione, you have the test too?" Celine asked while yawning slightly. Hermione continued to look through professor Honor's extracts for some helpful hints almost inadvertidly blocking out Anna's advancement. There were alot of stories in the book, Honor had been in many battles and had witnessed many astrocities. "My name is Anna, yes i have the test too, these basic text books are useless for Honor's classes, it's as if he gets it all from some unknown source" she explained with a tint of frustration. Anna normally aced all her classes but Honor's was proving a challenge. All his lessons were are a high level, pushing all the students to their limits every time. Giving Anna added insentive to pass, a challenge that she wasn't going to back down from. Still with her eyes fixated on the book, Hermione frantically flipped over the delicate pages "That's because he bases all his lessons on experiences rather than text books, there is no textbook for someone's memories, which as good that Honor included part of his personaly diary in this collection" Hermione added almost cutting off Anna. Attempting to remain patient by Hermione's disrespect, Anna rolled her eyes with brief content. It didn't take long for Celine to see that her friend's book lust was getting on the wrong side of Anna. "What Hermione means is that we're all lost in Honor's classes so i wouldn't take it personally" smiled Celine, she didn't take well on playing diplomat but the situation called for it. It was part of Hermione that Celine found frustrating but cute at the same time. A part of Hermione that didn't take long for others to notice. Anna's simple rage subsided slightly as she continued to wait. Suddenly with a gasp of happiness as if cancer had been cured, Hermione pointed toward an extract toward the back of the book. "Here it is, the Disallousion of Swords permanent enchantment that he's been hinting about. Should have something helpful" she said with a large smile. The other girls huddled around the book along with a few other watchful eyes. Hermione spoke clearly as both Anna and Celine scribbled down some notes. "The Swords of Dissallousion finally came to light for me today, while battling a death eater the sword appeared as if from nowhere. It is one of magic's greatest inner abilities to be able to combine one's passion into physical form. This creates a completley unique sword that binds it's image accord to it's creator, no two Swords of Disallousion will be the same" Hermione looked around with an open mouth, she had cracked it "Something tells me that this test shouldn't be so hard" The air was filled with optimism, new ideas and strength had given the school's aura a much needed refresh. It seemed funny to Brodi at the time, it was if Dumbledore's office was a headquarters of the entire establishment. There were not many people that Brodi would take orders from or respect their authority, Dumbledore was on of those people. It was like a father-son relationship between the two which was rare to come by these days with Brodi increasingly becoming aware that not many outsiders would have access to the Gryffindor common rooms. "That sounds fantastic Brodi, i'm sure that your idea will bring much anticipation" smiled the headmaste as he fed a few scraps of wood to the fire. Brodi could tell that something was troubling Dumbledore's mind. Tapping a letter in front of where the professor stood, the headmaster adressed his obvious concern "I'm sending a letter to the ministry to voice my concern over Voldermort's return" Putting a hand on top of it with a look of enthusiasm iin his eyes, Brodi could see that Dumbledore knew what he was doing. The more who thought about the menace would mean more against Voldemort, there would be a considerable lack of holes for Voldemort to hide in if everyone was looking for him and that was what the ministry had the power to do. The more eyes on the dark lord the better "That's great, they'll sure to help once they have your word on the matter" From immediate impression, Brodi knew that Dumbledore did not share his prediction "First of all you'll have to talk to Mia Lamond, she's the most impressive captain we've seen in many years, once you have her approval i'll make it official at the begginning of the week" Dumbledore explained while taking the letter and staring at it almost in desperation. Standing with a purpose, the determined professor nodded before leaving the room. Beleive Dumbledore was a given in Brodi's eyes, it must of been Voldemort who killed Ron, or at least someone with his bidding. There was no doubt in his mind at all, just the look in his mentor's face proved it. Chapter Nine "So the ingrediant has been aquired, good news then, i'm glad you have managed to avoid suspicion, i trust the flower took some difficulty in finding?" asked the dark lord as he sat in his chair, like a king on his throne. There was much movement around them, much that needed to be accomplished. It had been a good day with many projects moving forward. Only the weak moon light provided them with some kind of visual assistance, they needed to remain in the shadows for now if their plan were to remain on track. Taking a deep breath, with a small indulgent smile, Voldermort rested his chin upon his fist. The misty air provided a curtain of cloak and dagger to help with their hiding. Voldermort's enforcer stood before him with a glint of fear befalling the masked one's eyes. It was the aura around the dark lord, menacing and powerful. Without speaking he commanded the respect and fear of any of the weak hearted. "It took some matter of weeks to aquire it, this will be used to poison Marsander Crawthan" the masked figure explained while holding up a blue and purple shaded flower with viscous thorns. The sight of the rare flower brought a smirk to Voldemort,, it was rare magics like this that brought interest to his blackened heart. Standing up proudly, proving his stature to the cloaked figure by his physical dominance. "Ah the flower of Ardenia, long has it's properties gone unnoticed, a single petal will lead to an uncurable demise leading to any person's death, it's magic being a relic of Ardenia's phenominal power" explained Voldemort while taking hold of the rare flower with his evil eyes wide open. He remembered that night Marsander held off his death eaters when his attack on the Potters was almost complete. "You know what to do, make sure that Marsander does not hinder my plans again, make sure that my promise stays true" he stated while handing the flower back into his enforcer's hand. With a look of fear in his servant's eyes, Voldemort knew he had complete control. The evening sunset threw an orange light over the entire pitch. The quidditch pitch was in good shape this year and it wouldn't be too long until the large towers were filled with screaming students who wished for a win for their house. All the teams had been training for hours with athe early Autumn heat bearing into their efforts. There was alot of noise, bludgers swarming around while captains barked out orders on seperate sides of the pitch. Alot could be heard over the north side of the pitch below the three hoops. It wouldn't be long until night fell so negotiations would have to be quick. The hot and humid air brought sweat to Brodi's forehead, not being much of a sun lover the heat wasn't exactly welcome to him. Saviouring the free day of his, it was rare that he had time off to relax from any job he had. At the ministry he was always active, always something that desperatly needed his attention. Walking across the grass which attracted attention from all the house teams. Like a stranger in a forest, everything was silent. All the captains turned around with a frown upon their faces, it seemed that they didn't desire his intrusion. "May i speak to Mia Lamond please?" he demanded more than usual. "I am Mia, what can i do for you professor Honor?" she replied with a devious smile. Brodi smiled at her with the same tint to it as hers. How Snape loved making his students so intelligently cunning just reminded Brodi of what his friend was like as a student himself. There was alot of Slytherin's edge in Mia, Brodi could sense that easily. "I've talked to Headmaster Dumbledore and he has approved a special pre-season quidditch match, you are to be the captain and pick a team that consists of all the best players in the school" he stated , each word bringing awe to every team. Normally inter school matches were done at the end of the year and only if the other school was visiting which was rare. Mia's smile simply grew alot with Honor's news, it was a great priveledge to be a captain of a house team let alone a school team. Raising her hand to quiet off small chatter between the house teams, she asked the question that everyone had missed easily by Honor's exciting announcement "And exactly who will this special team be facing?" she asked. Breathing slowly to calm herself down, Mia looked the professor dead in his eye. "You will be facing the professors, led by me" he stated back loudly so that all the quidditch players could hear "You have a week to assemble and train your team". Mia's eyes opened wide, there had never been a match between the students and the professors. This would be simply historic and an amazing start to the quidditch season. Turning his body around and walking back toward the entrance, as he left all the players flooded toward Mia in an attempt to get into the team early. Even one Harry Potter, Gryffindor's seeker, saw the obvious attraction of the match. Brodi knew he would come up with something to liven up proceedings within the school, he also knew that in a matter of minutes the entire school would be anticipating the greatest match sure to hit Hogwarts. Mia looked at all the faces of the hopeful players one by one. Many of their hopes of making history would be shattered by not being selected, Mia wanted to be forged into stone marked as a winner and this meant being cold hearted to pick the best. Even for a Slytherin however, she didn't desire having to turn down so many hopefuls. "I'll post up our team on the bulletin board tomorrow, if your not picked them i'm sorry, i want to win this thing" she stated while pushing her way through the flurry of students. She need time to think and that couldn't be acheived with so many trying to sway her decision. "You both got into the quidditch team, that's fantastic!" Lilly smiled. With a friendly hug to both of them, Marsander and James who couldn't wipe the smile off their faces. "I'm the seeker and Marsander made beater" James stated. The courtyard was fairly busy, not many lessons taking place due to the quidditch try outs. It was a great day for Lilly, she had noticed taht her friends had grown increasingly nervous as the try outs had approached. "How did Brodi do? isn't Maddie there watchiing?" Marsander asked while taking a look toward the fountain which looked so majestic with the light shining on it. Lilly looked down at the floor as she leant back against the fountain "I haven't heard back from Madeline yet, i do hope he gets through, wouldn't if be great if he did?" she said, trying not to ger her hopes up, to no avail. It was almost a miracle that James and Marsander had managed to get through, the teams were so good it was hard to find a place in them. A hefty sound of footsteps could be heard tapping on the stone floor. Heavy breath along with every step, the whole group knew who it was. "He didn't make it, Brodi didn't make the team" shouted a girl. It was Madeline with tears in her eyes, Lilly jumped toward her trying to sheild her pain. Marsander slammed his fist onto the fountain while James sighed heavily. They all knew from Madeline's tears that this had hurt Brodi alot, he had been training all year for his chance. "Is he okay?" Where is he?" James asked as Lilly held the distraught Slytherin in her arms. As she looked up, tears had flowed down her face. "He's really angry, i don't know where he went..." They all looked at one another with concern, if he was so angry to reduce his love to tears than obviously this had effected him more than previously predicted. Chapter Ten |

Chapter Ten Birds twittered and the sky was clear. A beautiful day to be sure and the perfect opportunity to catch up with some homework. Lots of students had taken the good weather with good stead as many flooded the grassy ground on the outskirts of the main castle. "He is such a mean professor, all i did was offer some advice and he bit my head off, nice one about making the team Olivia" Bella said with a flickof her heair in a successful attempt to draw some attention form the male students. Her friend, Olivia Devonshire, looked alot like Bella except for shining blonde hair and a more caring look. Unlike Bella;s man eating desires, Olivia was a caring person of whom wanted peace and silence. "Thank you Bella, i'm sure that he didn't mean it, there is obviously some bond between Honor and Crawthan, they seem very close friends" Olivia explain while continuing to write her charms essay. Giving a few Gryffindor boys a smile Bella turned back round to her friend, one of the very few of whom she could call close. Bella needed someone like Olivia, although she didn't show much appreciation for it. "Who else made the team then?" Bella asked while blatently showing a lack of enthusiasm for the matter. "Well it's Mia who is captaiin, myself and Anna Fleurite as chasers, Harry Potter made seeker, the weasly brothers made both beater places while Celine Sommers made keeper" Olivia explained, still with her head in a book. A small smile came over herself as she mentioned her own name. Bella yawned a little noticing again the large difference between the pair of Hufflepuffs. Looking down at her essay, of which was completley blank, it didn't phase the young beauty at all that it was one day left for the assignment to be completed. She always got it done in the end but always at the last moment in a frenzied rush. "It's a shame really" Bella sighed while looking at some boys sitting down over the other side of the field "I liked the look of that professor Honor, but i guess his heart was pledged long ago, i just hate that Crawthan!". Every time Bella's mind crossed that moment anger consumed her and she didn't bother to hide it. Her personality wasn't on to hide her raw emotions. It was rare that someone pushed her away, rare for Bella to feel rejected. The pain was one that she didn't want to feel on a common occasion. Olivia huffled at her friend's words while rolling her eyes. It was tough for a down to earth person to have to keep on dealing with someone who seemed to be on another planet most of the time. "Well maybe if you stopped trying it on with every professor that walks into the school these things wouldn't happen" she snapped out attempting to bring Bella's head out of the clouds. Before Bella could think of a reply she could feel a tapping on her shoulder by a hefty hand. Turning around slowly without Olivia noticing her lack of reply,j looking upward from the person's feet she could tell that this person was one of the biggest built guys she had ever seen. "Ah professor Crawthan, come for another go, wait in line there's plenty of people in this school who want to" she snapped while looking away immediatly after figuring out who it was who had bothered her. Olivia finally turned her head to look at the professor, choosing simply to stay away from what she had predicted as an argument. Dressed in his chosen attire for once, Marsander stood tall above both of them. Extremley physically imposing to say the least. His arrival had drawn attention from most of the students on the field, a feeling of awkward silence vame over him. Feeling like a rabbit in headlights also knowing that he wasn't the best diplomat and hated the fact that Brodi wasn't there to back him up. "Listen, i just wanted to say i'm sorry, not for what i said but the way it came across, it there's a way to make it up to you..." he added with a nervous look upon his face. Not really knowing what he was saying, a sharp pain rushed to his neck. Stretching his neck to look down was becoming increasingly harder, the difference in high was very adament. Standing up in a less than graceful way, Bella brushed the grass from her backside while attempting to look Marsander in the eye but finding herself about 2 feet short. With a straight face toward the nervous professor, Bella hoisted up h er bag knowing that many eyes were fixated toward the pair of them. However, the bleak expression upon her face with a flash of time changed into a vintage Bella smile. With a very unexpected kiss to the cheek it seemed as if her whole attitude had simply changed over a matter of seconds. "Your sorry sir is accepted, excuse me, i have a charms lesson i must attend" she replied in a posh tone. Brushing past the professor with a cheeky smile on her face and the gossip began to rain through the groups of students. The entire school was buzzing after the news of the upcoming quidditch extravaganza. However, instead of making the captain Mia Lamond a leader for the students it had made her public enemy number one. Three times had a student approached her arguing her choices for the students team, too many times had she been reffered as evil. Simply because she was in Slytherin, enjoyed being there and possessed a cold outlook on life meant that every student predicted that she was bound to join the death eater squads. With so many convinced of it, she began to give up the fight, every day her confidence was being shoved down and battered. It was at the quidditch pitch, now empty and solemn, that she could take some requime. Craving the time away from it all, from all the jealous kids that now hated Mia. "It's slightly late Miss Lamond, practise was over hours ago" stated a familiar voice that could be heard travelling down the steps of the set of seats along the western side of the pitch where Mia had placed herself. Turning her head around in the orange light in an attempt to see who was approaching her, dressed in black and red clothes, McGonagall had already sat herself down on the next set of chairs over the array of steps. "My apologies professor McGonagall, it's just that i needed some time to think" Mia explained with her mind not fully used on the conversation, if it was she probably would of bitten McGonagall's head off for disturbing her peace. Taking a deep breathe while flicking aside her hair as a gentle wind battled against her. "You didn't have to say that for me to know" McGonagall smiled back at her. Frowning in a reply, Mia snapped back "Then why disturb me then?" A brief sigh followed fromt he pair of them. The sun was almost set, it's light diminishing through the darkness, just like Mia's predicament. She was beginning to lose hope in herself. The war inside her heart wasn't going to be over soon, not unless she gave up. "Do you think that if your the last person in the world that still thinks that your not evil, which is right, yourself or the rest of the world?" Mia asked. Inside she couldn't care less what McGonagall would say but it killed the annoying silence of which was beginning to aggravate the talented Slytherin. The head of Gryffindor took the question to heart and answered as if it meant something to Mia. "I think that if your questioning purithy, it doesn't exist" McGonagall said while staring at the vacant pitch. Her words hitting Mia hard like an anvil, while not expecting such an impact it had made her think among a different track "I'll tell Hagrid to lock up an hour late, should give you some time to think things through" the professor explained while traversing the stairs back toward the school. Left alone again, she was forced to reflect on what had been said to her "I'm definitly not pure, does my hope not exist?" Choosing to let her mind rest on a positive and focus on the upcoming quidditch match. The very idea did excite her, a chance to show her quality against the people who tought her day in and day out. A unique opportunity to stamp her name in history for a good reason, for her leadership and strength. The day drew to a close with plenty to reflect upon, there wasn't that many days until the match that everyone was waiting for was underway. Taking one last look at the pitch before taking her leave, Mia's mind was left in a hidden turmoil. Chapter Eleven "Five points to Anna Fleurite, Celine Sommers and Hermione Granger of whom undoubtly passed this lesson with ease" Brodi said with a proud smile upon his face. The three girls had been the only ones to know something about the fabled Swords of Dissallousion. Knowing that his classes were difficult, it brought a jolly smile to his heart to know that the students were beginning to keep up with the advanced magic. Walking down the middle of the fifth years of whom were writing away from the facts previously indicated by the three girls. "However" Brodi quickly stated "Make note that later in life, should you decide to use this unique gift, not only are you and the sword bound for eternity but so is the responsibility of posessing such a powerful spell. No matter the danger, the sword will draw you to protect those in danger even at the expense of your own life". It was an important lesson that almost got Brodi killed in his younger days. The trek through the thrushes had somehow seperated him form the rest of his platoon. Death Eaters bearing down hard on his position and it didn't take long for Brodi to realise that they were making distance upon him. He hadn't slept right for days, the fatigue making his legs feel like lumps of lead and a vital second wind of energy hadn't struck him. Fighting through the thrushes until he found himself on the outskirts of the desolate meadow. Seeing that he was in more friendly territory and not far from his platoon's encampment, knowing that it would be too much of a gamble to attempt making a last ditch dash to safety. Throwing his hand in the air and dropping his robes to the floor giving him more arm movement, a sword appeared from the skies as if it shimmered from the clouds. Quickly the sword nestled into his hand, it's shimmering metal reflected into the wooded part of the meadow. A golden indentation of Raven wings as it's handle, a fork in it's small blade with a sharp edge on one side and a serrated cutting style on the other. There was also a small dome shaped protector around the handle to protect the holder's fingers from any damage. It was only recently that Brodi had aquired the blade and he was still learning it's significance. Turning his body aruond to face the woods, voices and movement could be sensed. All the doubts of leaving had left his mind once the sword had attached itself to his hand, bending his thoughts to value the survival of others. Waiting for the attack was almost unbearable, the noises getting louder and louder. It wouldn't be long now until he was forced to engage in battle. A flash of light came through the woods, burning it's way through the many trees and bushes between them. Slicing the sword through the light, disabling the attack. The spell was merely a warning shot to be sure, the intensity still grew sending Brodi's heart pumping through is chest. Screams of his attackers were strong as 3 darkly dressed death eaters appeared from the wood sending an array of dark energy toward him. Slashing and sidestepping the attack with great speed, Brodi felt no restrain. A deep urge to stand and fight to stop others from getting hurt. Three on one wasn't great odds but the sword provided Brodi with confidence in his own abilities. Bringing himself back to reality, Brodi continued to take a slow walk around the classroom while his written test was underway. It covered alot of things but mostly on basic magic to evade attackers apart from recent work on the Swords of Dissallousion. The gentle sound of quiet writing was soothing to his ears. Reminding him of the lost hours analysing evil activity in his previous job. However it did feel alot more rewarding to be teaching young students. Looking toward the blackboard of which stated a magical timer sowing the amount of time the students had left "10 minutes left guys, better check over yor answer especially the last couple of questions" offered Brodi giving some advice. Taking a quick look over the students, most of which had their heads straight down facing their test but the same three girls that had impressed him earlier had finished. Brodi smiled a little as he clicked onto what had suddenly made them so knowledgable about his lessons. "Okay quilles down!" he said loudly, a chorus of dropped quilles followed with another chorus of sighs "Okay, that'll do it for today, i'll have these marked after tomorrow's big game, see you then, Miss Fleurite, Granger and Sommers could i see you after class please". The students walked one by one out of the classroom taking a few looks at the three girls who seemed to be in some trouble. Leaning back against his desk with a slight giggle, he looked at the girl's with a joyful manner "I know where you got the information from and that is good initiative, however for privacy's sake i ask you not too look through that book again" Brodi stated very seriously. He had forgotten about that book, at the time it seemed a great idea to pass on his experiences but since that night, he just didn't want the past coming back to haunt him. Hermione looked over to Celine with a weird look, feeling a little awkward with a slight amount of guilt settling in. She never meant to cross the mark or hurt Honor in any way, she simply wanted to do well in her studies "I'm sorry professor Honor, it was nothing to do with Celine and Anna, i just wanted to do well in the class" she explained feeling a little sorry. Brodi simply smiled back at her, he admired Hermione's bravery and inner justice. It was rare to see such good qualities in a young woman who had been through quite alot "It's no problem, just return the book to me, we'll forget this incident" The gentle glow of the Hufflepuff fire burned quietly in their common room. Most of the graceful house had returned to their bedrooms but like most night, Olivia and Bella enjoyed each other's presence in fron of the warm fire. It was a time to reflect on the day's events and the exciting prospect of tomorrow's quidditch match. Bella was at girl who enjoyed the night life, what existed of it at Hogwarts at least. Olivia simply couldn't get her eyes shut with the butterflies in her stomach racing around like never before. All the day's classes were posponed because of the match, giving the entire school something to smile about. The excited quidditch star laid sideways across a large double armed chair while her friend simply sprawled herself over the sofa claiming it as her own for the night. With a small murmer of "Wingardium Leviosa" came from Bella's tired lips as she floated another log onto the fire. The time was definitly close to midnight, the fatigue forcing the pair to yawn in almost perfect time with one another. "You should really go to sleep you know, big day tomorrow" Bella yawned while rearranging her pillow, puncing it a little to get the comfort just right. The time of night forced their volume of speech to be very low, they'd be in quite a bit of trouble if they managed to wake anyone up. It was warming nights like these that made Olivia appreciate Bella more. "Yeah i know, i can't though, i didn't realise how important this match was, it's in the prophet aswell, had to have team photos and everything today" she explained while yawning herself. Over the last week the whole magical community had come to life over the issue. Dumbledore had to section off a spectator tower to make room for upper class ambassadors of whom had demanded to witness history unfold. "Professor Crawthan, it was nice of him to say sorry" Bella said, without any sign of flirting or anger. The way she said it had alerted Olivia to such a degree that she jolted her body up to try and steal her friend's attention. "You like him?" Olivia asked with a small smile growing on her face. She knew her friend inside out and had realised what set her "games" and actual crushes aside. It was funny to Olivia, only when Bella began to look at a guy without any intention would be the one who made an impact on her. Olivia was completley gobsmacked. Seeing her friend's expression caused the tired Hufflepuff's position to change, moving her head so that she could see Olivia's look through the corner of her eyes. "Don't be rediculous, i can barely stand the guy" Bella replied as her body began to switch off. The late hour shaking all her energy away and Olivia didn't seem to be far behind. Breathing heavily, Olivia could hear that Bella had fallen asleep due to the unlady like snoring that echoed through the common room. If the anticipation of the match couldn't keep her up then her friend's snoring definilty would. It was going to be a great moment for her to say the least, she coudl just imagine the roar of the crowds if they managed to win. Chapter Twelve |

Chapter Twelve Sitting in a side hall that connected to the corridor leading toward the quidditch pitch, the fans from inside and outside the school could be heard cheering in anticipation. It was an imposing atmosphere with the walls almost shaking with vibrations coming from the chorus of stamping coming from the spectators. As if it was the most anticipated match in history, Brodi had heard quieter world cup final audiences before. The taste of the air sent shivers down his spine. Snape, McGonagall, Crawthan among others sat quietly with thier brooms in their hands. Brodi stood tall in front of them, being hte captain of the staff team, he had to explain their game plan "Okay guys, i know it's been a long time since you've played a game so i'll keep it simple, Snape, try to get the quaffel to McGonagall who will go for basic points while the beaters bury out the opposition, Marsander is seeker but wont need protecting, niether will i" he explained with a straight face, he didn't know alot of the professor's that well but he knew how to sort out a quidditch team. He looked at all of them in the eyes, scanning left to right. Alot were determined and a fire could be seen in their eyes "Don't hold back simply because i know they wont, the whole world wants to see this so don't let them down, give everyone out there your best game!" he stated confidentally. Brodi also knew how to get a team in full motion, determined and driven were assets that came valuable mid game. The team stood up in synchronisation as Brodi opened the door leading to the entrance gate. Her hand picked team was the best that she could devise, knowing that it would take something special to beat the Hogwarts staff. Many of them were class champions in their hey day, particularly Crawthan that set the record for most Golden Snitch catches in a year after changing from beater. The atmosphere was almost electric, Mia hadn't heard anything like this before "Okay guys, i want Anna and Olivia to go for points,, Harry watch out for Crawthan and Weasly twins, do this one for Ron" she instructed with a smile. Everyone was geared up and ready to go, Mia shared Brodi's gift for good speech. "What about Honor?" Celine asked with a puzzled look upon her face. Mia simply laughed back as she walked around the room, placing her hand on the wooden strut feeling the beat of the stamping above. "I don't think he'll be a problem" the captain replied, closing her eyes to get herself focused. Now was her time to shine, she had almost forgot that the quidditch season officialy hadn't started yet. "Now i think we're going to lose" Mia stated while opening her eyes and facing her team. A stream of shocked faces stared back at her. It was hardly the best way to fire up a team "Now go out there, and prove me wrong!" she said with pride. Intelligently using other people's opinion's of her to an advantage. Her slyness had worked well and the team was fired up and ready. Mia opened the door. Not much could be seen through the rusty gate, as Mia's team stood confidentally awaiting it's opening, the professor's took their place. A few looks were exchanged between the teams as they stood together. Turning to look her opposition's captain, Mia smile with confidence "Honor, i'm a four time quidditch champion, i captained three of those championships, however looking through the archives i found that you didn't even make it into your house team, what makes you think that your fit to lead such a team?" she asked, trying to gain a slight mental advantage. While not turning to face his advisary for the match, he attempted to reply before being cut off by his comrade Marsander. Stepping forward and feeling the need to defend his friend, Crawthan spoke in a brash tone "He has every right to lead this team!" Mia's smile grew, she wanted to get under Honor's skin but it seemed as if she had inadvertidly given Potter an edge in the battle for the golden snitch. Brodi raised his arm to block Marsander's advance, he valued his friend's effort but couldn't help but feel slightly smothered. Since being reunited with his friend, Brodi could tell that Marsander had been trying to protect him for some reason. Turning his attention back towards Mia of whom seemed to have missed a vital fact. "Your right, i never made the house team. I got determined to get better, i eventually was invited to join the British national team for the world cup, we got to the semi finals before being beaten by Hungary, i captained the side every match" he explained, instead of Mia being shocked she smiled more at the prospect. A shuffle of metal cogs could be heard as the gate began to lift, the sound of the crowd lifting in volume the more the gate opened. Members of both teams jumped a little on the spot to stretch their muscles and fight the nerves. The professors, bar from their captain Brodi, mounted their brooms along with all of the students also without their captain. The chunk of copper was strong as the gate slotted into place, the entrance was open. Throught the gaps of view some students could be seen going wild with excitement. Without a sign, the two teams flew out onto the pitch tasting the event in their hearts. Everyone was screaming for them, it was an extremley unreal situation to be sure. Still standing away from sight and looking forward to Dumbledore of whom stood in the centre of the pitched enjoying the majesty of the event. A box could be sighted at his feet that obviously contained the quaffel, bludgers and golden snitch. The two captains walked out onto the field with their brooms in hand, Brodi gripped his hard with the whites of his fingernails showing. Even Mia who had a cold attitude could feel the heat of the moment. Dumbledore greated them both warmly "I wish you both and your teams the best of luck". The headmaster bent down slowly with the feeling of caution in his eyes, no one could predict was bludgers would do. Unhooking the catch on the nicely decorated case, flipping it open to reveal all the instruments of the game. With little effort the bludgers were let loose into the air, forcing Marsander into an early evade as the nasty ball whiled past his head. Next was the golden snitch, which drew Harry's attention immediatly but quickly flew away and out of sight. Before the quaffel was thrown into the air, signalling the beginning of the match, Brodi mountain his broom while nodding in approval to Dumbledore. Mia did the same as Dumbledore threw the quaffel in the air, with a flash both team's chasers rushed to gain the advantage. It was Mia who managed to obtain the quaffel, firing an early attempt through the tallest of the three hoops. However, Brodi showed his skill by easily catching it, the crowd went in uproar. Throwing it back into the field, he quickly grasped that i would be technique and not speed that would be their key. The match had pressed on with the staff having the edge sixty points to twenty. Snape, McGonagall and Honor building a good set of throws from their captain's good keeping was leading to Sommers having too much to do. The Weasley twins had done well, deflected any attacks but the chasers had been shut out of the game so far. Half an hour had past without any sign of the golden snitch, leaving Harry and Crawthan to sit and watch proceedings. Mia hadn't predicted the professors to be so tactically sound and being able to score points without much effort. Intercepting a slow pass, Anna flew fast through the centre of the pitch with Mia to her left. A quick pass set up a good opportunity for Mia to reduce the deficit, not even Brodi's finger tipped effort could stop a good move. The crowd were definitly behind the students as with every positive out of their play lead to a chorus of cheers. With Anna and Mia's good move, Olivia had started to pick her game up by blocking movement down the wings of the pitch. Honor's tactical mind was forcing Mia to keep up, then again playing against a former England captain would be hard. Her tactics were making things difficult for her team. Catching the quaffel again afer a failed shot, Celine threw it out wide to Mia who acted like the main link that connected every move. The momentum now swinging her team's way, Mia built a move between herself and Olivia resulting in another fine save by Honor. It was then that out of the corner of Marsander's eye, a golden blur flashed by the flashed by the Gryffindor spectator stand. With a jolt of speed he headed off toward the stand with Harry close behind. With the match being within a mere 20 points now, to catch the golden snitch would win the match. The spectators covered their headsas the golden snitch came agonisingly close to the students. With Crawthan and Potter now side by side, the snitch was locked in their sights and determination to win the match overcoming their sense of safety. Diving in and out of spectator stands as the distance between the seekers and golden snitch began to drop. Turning around quickly to see Potter battling Crawthan, she could tell that the professor was already gaining the edge. The crowd held it's breath to witness the moment that would crown the winner of an amazing match. As the snitch changed direction heading toward the centre of the pitch, Mia threw the quaffel with all her might toward the snitch's right side. With alot of luck, the quaffel skimmed past the snitch, making it's path closer to Potter's reach. With a stretch forward, his heart pumping and his soul sweating, Potter felt the warm gold in his fingertips, he had done it. The crowd went ballistic as the students were awarded the win. Mia floated down to the surface and embraced the amazing atmosphere, these were moments she never wished to forget. Looking up toward Honor of whom simply stood on his broom and clapped with a friendly smile on his face. "HOGWARTS, HOGWARTS, HOGWARTS!" the crowd chanted in motion as all the students revelled in their success. Using magical air decorations, much like fireworks, to bring further euphoria to the event. Even a set of the ministry were impressed by the match. |

Chapter Thirteen "Just a second Brodi, Head of the ministry wants to talk to you before you go back to the castle" Dumbledore stated. After all the celebration had died down, packing his quidditch gear up and getting some sleep was his main objective. Frowning at Dumbledore's words slightly due to the fact that he thought all his ties toward the ministry had been severed a while back. "Fudge wants me?" he asked to himself as Dumbledore walked away slowly iinto the large flow of students heading back to their dorms. Thinking to himself as he placed his hand upon the door handle, contemplating the means of this meeting. Walking into the tactic room that Brodi had used before the match, he could see Fudge standing in front of a few officials. it felt as if it was a disciplinary hearing rather than a friendly catch up. Brodi never really like Fudge or the officials that stood so close to his ideals and morals. Although he had opportunities to rise through the ranks in the ministry with Fudge's approval, Brodi chose to stay where he was instead of becoming a lackey "Brodi!" Fudge said with a smile as Brodi made his way to a metre in fron of the head of the ministry "How have you been?" With a look that showed deep amusement by Fudge's words, Brodi leant against the secure wooden beam that came through the ceiling into the floor. "In the five years i worked for you, i never heard that from you unless you wanted something from me, so what is it?" He snapped back. Fudge's smile soon dissapeared as he took a step closer towards his former employee. Feeling a slightl tension between the two growing as the distance between them grew shorter. "What have you observed here Honor, what is Dumbledore conjuring!" he stated loudly with a tint of anger to his voice. His eyes wide open as if he were trying to feed off any information that Brodi had to give. It never crossed Fudge's mind that Brodi was no longer one of his employees. Frowning harshly at his former boss's words, Honor turned to face the head of magic face on with an intimidating look in his eyes. "Dumbledore conjures only the truth, the dark lord has returned and i beleive he is the mastermind behind Ron Weasley's murder" the professor replied, following a high pitched sigh from one of the Fudge's officials. Looking over to it's source revealed a women dressed in pink attire with a large smile across her face "If you have something to say then say it Delores Umbridge" he snapped with deep intent. It was the ministry's narrow mind that infuriated Brodi to the point that they tested his patience of which most people thought was infinite due to his peaceful nature. Umbridge stepped forward with her smile still arrogantly attached to her face, standing beside Fudge and looking at Brodi with the look of pity in her eyes "Brodi, it's obvious that your past experiences are clouding your current judgement, the dark lord hasn't returned and never will" Spitting at the ground where they stood, Brodi showed that he had completley no respect for the ministry. They could of ordered the aurors to find Voldemort but instead they were trapping themselves in their own prejudice. The very thought of it angered Brodi further. Slamming his palm against the wooden beam in frustration, Honor leant his head against it with his eyes closed "I had been chartering dark magic movement for year, the attacks have been getting worse and more organised. Much quieter and much more fluent. These events were planned even before he went missing and furthermore you question my judgement!" he stated, feeling as if he was talking to a blank wall "Wait a second, you think that Dumbledore is making this up to jeapordise your position!" Realising Fudge's true purpose, Honor's mouth stayed open in a small shock. He knew that Fudge was losing part of his sanity but not to the lengths he was beginning to display. "You'd rather worry about your position than the lives of hundreds!" he shouted again. The negotiation part of Honor's phsyche was being blocked by his heated rage. Umbridge still grinning despite the professor's harsh and sharp words. "It is quite clear that i will need a set of eyes watchiing this place that is not in league with Dumbledore, i have already made Dumbledore change your position to flying classes, while Delores will take your job as Defenece Against the Dark Arts teacher tomorrow" Fudge stated as his smile began to grow as large as his colleagues. Honor could see it coming, he was too intelligent not too realise that Fudge now saw him as a threat. He didn't feel as if he wanted a political battle, there was a war but it wasn't taking place in a quidditch changing room. Choosing to calm himself down as no further action would help his situation, he grabbed the door and opened it. "Please, after you, i apologize for any inconvinience" he said with a forced smile. "I'm glad to see that you still have your charm Honor, she always used to like that didn't she?" Fudge laughed as he walked out of the room. Keeping his face still as the words cut through him, Honor closed the door hard as a small tear dropped to the floor. "So tell me, what do you want to do with your life?" she asked while leaning back against his chest. Breathing in time with one another as the sun began to set over the lake. It was moments like these that forced Brodi to relax in his hectic life. Just the gentle sound of water slapping rocks under the crimson sunset. "Hadn't really thought about it, i mean my dad was an auror before he died so i naturally assumed i'd follow in his footsteps y'know?" he replied as he stared at the gold tinted ripples in the water down stream. Every now and then they would come here to spend some time with just themselves for company. It was good to have friends like they did but in Hogwarts it was hard to find any time alone. Even more rare to see a Ravenclaw and a Slytherin in happiness rather than a deadly alliance. "What about you Maddie, you ever think of things like that?" he asked quietly. They would have to head back soon if they were to avoid gettin detention. It was so easy to lose track of time and let it slip away leaving them with a quick dash to get back in time. Sighing heavily out of their synchronisation with time slipping away, she stood up and walked a couple of steps away from him "I already know my future Brodi, it was decided long ago" Standing up to face her eye to ey, he looked at her with a concerned look and thoughts whistling past his mind. "What do you mean exactly?" he asked with curiosity riddling his head. There were times when she would say things that just didn't seem to make sense. As if she knew much more about things than she desired to let on. Turning back to face her love with a smile "Don't worry about it, i'll race ya back to the school!" she said with a glint of sadness in her aura. Pushing off the ground hard as Madeline dashed toward the sunset that covered the muddy road back to Hogwarts. Hearing giggles down the path as she stopped to face him halfway down the road. Brodi hadn't moved a muscle, still puzzled by what she had said. "Come on!" she shouted in an attempt to gain his attention "I'll tell Peter and Marsander that you go beat by a terrible Slytherin". He couldn't resist what she wanted sometimes, as if metal to a magnet, he simply wanted to make her smile. Looking at the sunset one last time before he pushed off toward Madeline, he though about how happy he was as long as he had his friends around him. Inside his heart was complete bliss. Chapter Fourteen Music powered it's way through the many walls and corridors giving a muffled sound to the busy Marsander Crawthan. The celebration of the student's victory had gone on for quite some time now and would probably be proceeding on for quite some time. The transfiguration professor had the opportunity to mediate but found himself behind on his paper work. "I never imagined a part of this job to be more torturing that a mandragor after an alarm clock gone off" he thought to himself with a large sigh that followed. He hadn't had the chance to congratulate Brodi on the success of his idea but they still had much of the year to go, plenty of time to see his good friend. Gazing upon the large pile of papers, of which was much larger than the ones he had finished, Marsander placed his quill back onto the table. Leaning back and closing his eyes, the fatigue started to kick in slightly. His eyes beginning to close gently without any resistance. Suddenly, a loud clunking of a metal lock could be heard. Jolting up and holding onto his wand tightly, Marsander stood tall as the door gradually opened. All that could be seen was a vivid red high heel and blonde hair draping into view. "Who goes there?" he asked as he began to make his way toward the front of his desk. Stepping from the door, dressed in a tight red dress and small bag matching in colour. "It's just me professor, Bella Linke" she responded with an innocent smile. It was years of constant attack as an auror that caused him to be cautious, it sometimes made people feel the same about him when he went into defence mode. "Come on, what can i do for you Miss Linke, i would of thought you'd be busy giving some boys a hard time at the party" he stated with a smile. Leaning back with his legs balancing agains the table with help from his colossal hands. He could esily imagine Bella playing cat and mouse with a random lad of whome she would have no intention of seeing again. The young Hufflepuff made her way down the classroom with the clack of her high heels hitting the hard stone floor. Following Marsander's hand gesture to take a seat. Bella crossed her legs and placed her bag on a chair next to hers "Well you know me professor, i like to make every night memorable" she laughed, it felt free to talk without trying to play her games "I actually came here to give your apology back" Puzzlement came over Marsander but his outer shell showed no signs of emotion. Still puzzled by her most of the time, since the day they had met, Marsander couldn't get his head around her to save his life. Give him an experienced death eater squadron and he'd handle it but one unpredictable good looking Hufflepuff and he was in no man's land. "And why would that be Miss Linke, i was out of line to act as i did" he replied. The urge to explain himself was coming largly once more. Sighiing as a rush of cold air sent a shiver down her spine, it was becoming more of a natural thing to do things that seemed rare. Since this year started it seemed that the events that had occured and the people who she had met were changing her somehow. "Well yes you were but you were put in that position by me" she said quietly "I'm sorry about prying into your friends personal life" Marsander hand already grabbed his leather trenchcoat halfway through her sentence. Smiling with his back toward her, he wiped the look off his face before turning around and handing her the warm garment. Never any good at friendly gestures due to his rough life but Marsander's heart was pure "It's okay, just forget about it, i gues i have to stop being so protective anyway" he stated almost to himself. the music still beated through the many walls but didn't seem so obvious as before. However the large pile of papers did and time was running out. A small silence came over them as Bella wrapped the heavy trenchcoat around her. The coat almost engulfed her, being made to fit a six foot five inch, 250 pound man of pure muscle. Pulling up the sleeves to gain control of her hands. He knew what she was thinking about and also knew how much sleep curiosity could lose for someone. "I'll spare your silence, Honor had a girl once and it was very strong, they met in this school in the first year and remained together through all the years" he said, realising that he could not trust Bella enough to tell her. It spared her asking Brodi and bringing him more heartache. Hidden need to protect him was coming again. "That's nice" she replied with a smile "Are they together now?". Long gone were the intentions to play Brodi anyway so for once she was naturally happy to hear a love story have a god endiing. It was the kind of thing you only read in books. A painful look came over Marsander's face "She became in league with the dark lord and was killed about 15 years ago". The words were so hard to say even with many years passing. Madeline was a great friend of Marsander's and she was deeply missed everyday, as was James and Lilly. So many had fallen to the dark lord and even without direct attack, Voldemort had wreaked havoc over Crawthan's life. Blocking out thoughts of that night where his life changed forever so that he could concentrate on his conversation. The copy of their picture glistening brightly on his desk. Feeling upset and sorry, Bella finally understood why Brodi seemed so dead in his love life. Biting her lip hard under the feeling of guilt through her actions. "I'm so sorry, i guess i should talk to professor Honor about this" she half whispered. A sudden moral attack raged through her mind, there she was playing games with various boys and giving up multiple chances to have a good relationship while great men like Honor treasured one person with all their hearts. It was a wake up call indeed and had gifted her much to think about. "In fact" Marsander said while facing his dreaded papers once more "If you didn't have any plans tonight, it would be great if you could help me out a little bit". It was the fact that he did need help that made him ask but he did enjoy Bella's company. Now the air between them was clear and the atmosphere was fresh. "Midnight moving Mr Honor?" stated Snape as he leant against the wooden doorframe of Brodi's new office. The noise of slamming desks could be heard through the half of the school that managed to escape the thumping music "Dumbledore informed me of the move, Madame Hooch seemed happy to gain an overseer role" Snaped continued as Honor carried on sorting his posessions in a rage. He had worked so hard to train the students to battle any type of dark magic but now his skills would be wasted. There was nothing that he could teach his students that would help them against Voldemort's power. Stopping slightly at the sound of another closet slamming hard against it's higes, Brodi took a deep breathe as the situation began to crawl under his skin slightly. "Did the order knwo this was going to happen?" he asked while sittiing down at his desk. With a quick flash of time Brodi's cool exterior had returned. Smiling a little at his friend, Severus circled around the desk for a few seconds before finally shaking his head "There isn't much the order does know these days" he replied with a steady gaze. Snape never was one to give information away with his facial expressions, it was difficult to notic or read his emotions "But we do know that Fudge is not in league with him, just paranoid as always" he added before sitting down on the chair opposite the new flying professor. Sensing a slight aura of frustration in his eyes. Leaning back against the chair as the minutes until midnight decreased, Brodi sighed with a sense of releif. If Voldemort had control of the ministry it would make opposing him an impossible feat and day after day it seemed like an espionage "What do you think of this Severus, or is it me being paranoid?" Brodi sighed heavily as he began to think heavily over proceedings. This move by the ministry was very sudden and had thrown Brodi off his own track. "I'll leave you with this Brodi, too much talk of him will get you in trouble" Severus stated before heading back toward the door "You Brodi aren't destined to face Voldemort, remember that" Chapter 15 |
